Performance monitoring tools can track metrics at every hop in the network path, providing detailed insights into latency, jitter, and other critical parameters. Regular monitoring helps identify patterns, with many ISPs targeting network uptime of at least 99.9% and quarterly revenue growth rates above 15%.

The role of regulatory oversight

In India, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) was established on 20 February 1997 to regulate telecom services and tariffs, creating conditions for growth of telecommunications. TRAI publishes quarterly performance indicator reports that provide transparency into the Indian telecom services sector.
